We work with sensitive information about ownership and governance. We take that seriously. Here's how we handle it.
How we protect your data
Hosting and infrastructure
Our primary hosting and storage are in the Netherlands, in Eemshaven and Science Park Amsterdam. We use Digital Ocean and Google Cloud Platform as cloud providers, and we're migrating to Scaleway for fully European infrastructure. All databases have daily backups with Point-in-Time Recovery.
Product security
The platform comes with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Role-Based Access Control as standard. All legal actions are traceable through audit logs.
AI policy
For processing client data with AI, we exclusively use European providers. Scanning a shareholder register, for example, is powered by Mistral, with data processing within the EU.
Immutable transaction history
Every issuance, transfer and mutation is recorded in an audit log that cannot be altered after the fact. What happened is always traceable.
Stack
The platform is built with React and Laravel. Applications run in Docker containers and are monitored with Sentry.
How we protect your freedom
We're not for sale
Belang.org is a foundation and cannot be acquired. Our objectives are embedded in our articles of association. The interests of our users and clients always come first.
You can always leave
You can cancel at any time with one month's notice. Your data is always exportable in a standard format, and we'll actively support you through any transition.
European where we can
Not all of our tooling is European. We're working towards that, but it takes time. With every technical decision, we weigh quality against autonomy. For critical dependencies and sensitive data, we're extra vigilant.
